Looking for a place to stay in Siem Reap? The good news is there is an abundance of choice to suit all tastes, budgets, and travel styles. Here’s a summary of some of our favourites:
Maison Polanka – If you’re looking for a truly iconic Cambodian accommodation, Maison Polanka is for you. Here you’ll find lovingly restored Cambodian buildings with luxurious finishes, nestled in one of the lushest gardens around. We love them for creating a special space with soul, and for their commitment to conserving traditional design and Khmer craftmanship.
Templation – This stylish hotel is just a stone’s throw from the magnificent temples of Angkor, located on the outskirts of Temple Town. It boasts a beautiful (and huge!) pool, a collection of modern villas (we particularly love the ones with private swimming pools!), and a fantastic menu. We love them for their really impressive commitment to resource efficiency; they have the largest solar power generation in the country and their design encompasses natural airflow and rainwater harvesting.
Maison 557 – Also home to our office! We don’t think you can beat this peaceful oasis on location. It blends the perfect mix of secret garden tranquility, yet with all the convenience of city-centre living. It is within easy walking distance to all our favourite city-centre amenities. With just 7 rooms, this intimate space often leaves guests feeling they have the whole place to themselves. We love them for maintaining a green heart in the city centre, for welcoming guests like it is their home, and for all their support of Ayana Journeys!
Baby Elephant Boutique Hotel – With two wings to suit different budgets, we love Baby Elephant for its quirky and colourful decor, friendly staff, and family atmosphere. Find the hotel located on a quiet dusty road that gives a real sense of place, whilst also being a very short tuktuk ride or leisurely walk to all the action of the night-market. We love them because they are very committed to continuous professional development for their team, support several environmental initiatives, and for sharing their love of Cambodia’s rock and roll with their guests! LubD – Probably the best hostel rooms we have ever seen! This lively, modern space in the heart of the city has rooms to rival mid-range hotels. It also has a central pool, open-air cafe-bar space, and a gorgeous co-working hub for digital nomads. We love them because they are also ChildSafe Certified and partner with us on our Wisdom Wednesday events.
